HANFORD, CA — An 18-year-old man was arrested Saturday after allegedly leading police on a chase in a stolen car through Hanford.
The incident began Saturday afternoon when Hanford Police officers spotted a stolen 1998 Honda Civic on Hanford Armona Road. According to police, officers tried to pull the car over, but the driver refused to stop and led them on a chase through several streets.
Police called off the chase shortly after it started to keep the public safe. However, officers later spotted the car as it drove behind a CVS pharmacy at the intersection of Eleventh Avenue and Fargo Avenue.
The car eventually stopped south of the Northstar apartment complex, where three people jumped out and ran away. Officers searched the neighborhood and found all three people, one of whom was a minor.
The 18-year-old driver was booked on several charges, including child endangerment, possession of stolen property, and fleeing from officers.
Police did not release more information about the other two people found during the search.
