TULARE, CA — The 59th World Ag Expo opened Tuesday at the International Agri-Center, bringing the world’s largest outdoor farm show back to the heart of California’s Central Valley.
According to organizers, the three-day event serves as a global hub for agricultural innovation, bringing together farmers, industry leaders, and technology creators. World Ag Expo President and Chairman Ron Clark led the opening ceremonies at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday before the grounds opened to visitors.
Attendance for the event, which runs through Thursday, is projected to exceed 100,000 visitors representing dozens of nations.
Innovation and Technology
The expo features more than 1,200 exhibitors showcasing the latest advancements in farming technology. This year’s highlights focus on making farming more efficient through the use of robotics, self-driving tractors, and electric farm equipment.
Beyond machinery, the event has expanded its livestock facilities. The dairy and livestock center now includes exhibits for sheep, pigs, and chickens alongside traditional dairy displays.
Local Impact and History
The hosting region, which includes Tulare, Fresno, and Kern counties, leads the United States in agricultural production. The World Ag Expo has grown significantly since it started at the Tulare Fairgrounds in 1968 with only 124 exhibitors.
During the event, area nonprofit organizations manage the various food booths located across the grounds.
The expo remains open daily through Thursday. Tickets and additional information are available at https://www.worldagexpo.com/.
