LONG BEACH, CA — Anduril Industries is investing $1 billion to construct a second major campus in Southern California, a project expected to create thousands of local jobs.

The new 1.18 million-square-foot facility will be located across both Long Beach and Lakewood. State officials say the expansion will create about 5,500 jobs at the new site.

The upcoming campus will support high-tech development and production. Plans for the facility include laboratory space, workshops to build and test new designs, and dedicated office space for software developers and engineers.

While expanding into the Long Beach and Lakewood area, the company will keep its headquarters in Costa Mesa. The new facility is scheduled to open in mid-2027.

The investment comes as California continues to hold a prominent position in the aerospace and defense sectors. California is currently home to one-third of the space technology companies in the United States.

State data shows that the aerospace and defense industry helps the economy grow, bringing about $35 billion a year into California. This $1 billion investment by Anduril represents a significant addition to that sector.
