FRESNO, CA — Construction crews have begun work on a new dual-brand hotel in Fresno’s River Park district, transforming a former parking lot into a major hotel destination. Located near Nees Avenue and Highway 41, the project marks a significant step in the growth of the area.

The development consists of a single four-story building that will house 195 rooms divided between two brands: the AC Hotel and the Element Hotel. ABC30 reports that the AC Hotel is slated to be the first four-star hotel located in Fresno.

The two hotel brands will serve different types of travelers. The AC Hotel will feature a modern European style and a rooftop lounge, while the Element Hotel is designed for long-term stays and will offer free evening social gatherings.

While the two brands offer different experiences, they will share several amenities on the property. Guests at either hotel will have access to an oversized swimming pool and a fitness center. The building will also include multiple conference rooms for business meetings.

The hotel is part of a plan to grow the River Park area. Developers aim to provide more options for travelers and business professionals as the district expands.

Work is expected to finish by late 2027 or early 2028. Once complete, the project will bring a new level of luxury to Fresno’s hotel options.
