FRESNO, CA — The Fresno Grizzlies hosted their annual job fair at Chukchansi Park on Sunday, February 8, to recruit about 100 seasonal workers for the 2026 baseball season.

The team is looking to fill positions in several departments before Opening Day, including security and food service. They are also hiring a game-day production crew to operate the stadium’s music and video screens.

These jobs give local residents a chance to work in professional sports while helping the stadium manage the large crowds expected during the upcoming season.

Marketing and community relations coordinator Jack Van Valkenburg reported that the team has already received about 800 applications. He told Fox 26 News that the large number of applications shows the community’s strong interest in these jobs.

Van Valkenburg noted that the job fair offers a more personal experience than applying online. The in-person event allowed candidates to meet hiring managers face-to-face and hand over paper resumes.

The recruitment event attracted a wide range of local applicants. Candidates ranged from an 18-year-old seeking a first job to 63-year-old Johnny Maggard. Maggard told Fox 26 News that although he is old enough to retire, he is not ready to stop and wants to stay active through work.

The Grizzlies use this yearly event to ensure the stadium is fully staffed for the start of the baseball season. People who could not attend the job fair can still apply for open positions.
