FRESNO, CA — Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) set a new annual passenger record in 2025, serving 2,752,392 travelers.

According to data reported by Fox 26 News, this total is a 2.97% increase over the 2,672,881 passengers seen in 2024. Officials attributed the growth to high regional demand and the addition of more flights and destinations.

The record-setting year ended just as the "FAT Forward" terminal expansion project finished in December 2025. The project helps the airport meet current travel needs while preparing for future growth.

Expanded Flight Options

Both domestic and international routes grew in 2025. Travel between Fresno and Mexico increased by 4%, with a total of 433,636 passengers using those routes.

New flight options added during the year included twice-daily nonstop service to San Diego and the return of seasonal flights to Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

In addition to passenger travel, the airport’s cargo operations remained active. The facility handled more than 20 million pounds of air freight during the 2025 calendar year.

Facility Improvements and Recognition

The airport is currently working on its "Terminal Refresh Project" to modernize the building and make it easier for passengers to navigate.

Travelers can also expect new options soon, with new restaurants scheduled to open in the terminal starting in February 2026.

The airport's performance and facility improvements earned national recognition in 2025. USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards named the Fresno facility as one of the ten best small airports in the United States.
