MODESTO, CA — California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers stopped a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Highway 99 today, likely preventing a crash.
After a witness reported the wrong-way driver, Modesto CHP officers located the vehicle and pulled it over safely.
Following the traffic stop, officers arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence. According to the CHP, the man admitted he had been drinking and was taken into custody after officers confirmed he was intoxicated.
