Pebble and founder Eric Migicovsky announced the Pebble Round 2 smartwatch on January 2, 2026. The new device is a successor to the company’s 2015 model and is designed to be thin while still having a long-lasting battery.

The Pebble Round 2 features a 1.3-inch circular color "e-paper" screen—a low-power display similar to an e-reader—with a backlight and a resolution of approximately 260 x 260 pixels. According to the company, the updated design removes the large borders found on the original version, allowing the screen to fill more of the watch face. While the watch maintains a slim appearance with its stainless steel frame, the new model is 8.1 mm thick, which is slightly thicker than the 7.5 mm original.

The smartwatch is priced at $199, which is $50 less than the launch price of the original model. Pre-orders are currently available through the official Pebble website, and shipping is scheduled to begin in May 2026. Pebble is also letting customers who pre-ordered the Pebble Time 2 trade their order for the new Round 2.

One of the watch’s standout features is its battery life, which is expected to last between 10 to 14 days on a single charge. To help the battery last longer and keep the device from becoming too bulky, the company left out a heart-rate sensor. Migicovsky said the focus was on how the watch works and feels rather than adding larger hardware components. Health features are instead limited to basic step and sleep tracking using built-in sensors.

The device runs on a software system that supports thousands of older Pebble apps and can be set up to work with digital AI assistants. It also includes two microphones for speaking and replying to messages by voice. While these voice features currently work only with Android phones, the company plans to add support for iPhone users soon, starting with those in the European Union.

Users can navigate menus, control music, and answer calls using three buttons on the side of the watch. The Pebble Round 2 will be available in three finishes with specific band sizes:

  • Matte black: Includes a 20 mm band
  • Silver: Supports either 14 mm or 20 mm bands
  • Polished rose gold: Includes a 14 mm band

Alongside the watch, Pebble is preparing to launch the Index 01, a smart ring with a single button that works with the Round 2. Both products are scheduled to be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
