PORTERVILLE, CA — Police arrested an 18-year-old man and two juveniles on Dec. 30 after finding a stolen vehicle in Lindsay. The car was linked to a report of a violent carjacking in Porterville earlier that morning.
The incident occurred at about 2:15 a.m. in the 22300 block of Avenue 152. According to the Porterville Police Department, the victim reported being violently assaulted by three armed people who then drove off in the stolen car.
Working with the Lindsay Police Department, officers found the vehicle and arrested all three suspects. During the joint investigation, police also seized the firearms believed to have been used in the attack.
The suspects, all Porterville residents, include the 18-year-old man and two juveniles, ages 14 and 15. They face several felony charges, including:
- Carjacking
- Armed robbery
- Elder abuse
- Assault with a deadly weapon
- Conspiracy to commit a felony
- Participation in a criminal street gang
The adult suspect was booked into the Tulare County Sheriff’s South County Detention Facility, where his bail is set at $130,000. The two minors were taken into custody and booked into the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility.
