VISALIA, CA — Seven new small businesses are opening in downtown Visalia, with some locations welcoming customers as early as this month. According to a report from YourCentralValley.com, the new shops include restaurants, wellness stores, and specialty shops.
New Places to Eat
Several new dining options are joining the downtown scene, including expansions of local favorites and brand-new types of food.
Stuffed Buns, located at 302 Main St., is scheduled to open very soon. The bakery will specialize in Texas-style stuffed kolaches—a type of soft pastry filled with savory or sweet ingredients. Nearby at 117 W. Main St., the owner of Sushi Kuu is opening a new noodle shop called Ramen Kuu.
Italian cuisine is also expanding as Tulare-based La Piazza opens a second location at 124 W. Main St.
For those looking for snacks or specialty items:
- Visalia Yogurt Shop: Located at 207 W. Main St., this will be the first yogurt spot in the downtown area. It will offer more than 30 different toppings.
- Rustic Cheese Shop: Situated at 117 N. Court St., this specialty store will feature a selection of cheeses, wine, and meat-and-cheese boards (charcuterie). The store plans to open by the end of February 2026.
Wellness and Services
Beyond dining, the downtown area will welcome a new wellness shop and a tattoo studio.
Moonhaven Haus plans to open at 421 W. Main St. between March and April 2026. The plant-based café and herbal shop will focus on natural health products.
Last Wave Tattoo Shop is also moving downtown to 105 W. Main St. The studio will host a two-day grand opening celebration this Friday, Feb. 13, and Saturday, Feb. 14.
These seven new businesses show the area is growing, as several empty storefronts fill up this month and through the spring.
