CLOVIS, CA — A teenage girl was hospitalized in critical condition Friday morning after the van she was driving collided with a semi-truck in North Clovis.
The collision took place on Minniwawa Avenue, just south of Shepherd Avenue. According to Fox26 News, the girl's injuries are considered life-threatening.
The driver of the semi-truck stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
Clovis Police crash investigators are currently examining the site to determine exactly what happened. Early reports from police suggest that heavy fog in the area may have played a role in the crash.
Authorities warned drivers to avoid the area and expect traffic delays near the intersection of Minniwawa and Shepherd Avenues while the investigation continues.
Police have not yet released the teenager's name or the exact cause of the crash.
