HANFORD, CA — Police arrested three people in Southern California in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old at a Hanford apartment complex.

The shooting occurred just after 10 a.m. Friday at the Casa del Sol Apartments, located near the intersection of Hanford Armona Road and 12th Avenue. According to police, emergency responders arrived to find a 17-year-old with a gunshot wound to the chest. The teenager died at the scene.

Shortly after the shooting, detectives identified a vehicle and suspects linked to the case. Law enforcement and SWAT teams searched a home at Ogden and Arthur streets in Hanford. While police found the vehicle at the home, they made no arrests during that search.

Later, California Highway Patrol officers spotted the suspects in San Bernardino County. The group reportedly tried to run from police, but officers caught and arrested all three. During the arrests, officers recovered a gun that investigators believe may be linked to the shooting.

Authorities took the three suspects back to Central California and booked them into the Kings County jail. Two were booked on suspicion of murder, while the third was held as an accessory after the fact—a charge used when someone is accused of helping others after a crime has been committed.

The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing. Officials have not yet released the teenager's name.
