VISALIA, CA — A traffic stop on Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a driver and the seizure of two handguns and a high-capacity magazine, according to the Visalia Police Department.

The incident occurred shortly after 1:45 p.m. on January 19 on Leslie Street, just north of Goshen Avenue. Officers initially stopped the vehicle because the windows were tinted too dark.

During the stop, the driver reportedly refused several police orders to get out of the car. The driver was then arrested for obstructing an officer.

After the arrest, police searched the car. Inside the glove compartment, officers discovered a loaded Sig P365 handgun, a loaded Glock 26 handgun, and a 31-round magazine.

According to a report by FOX26 News, the suspect was booked into the Tulare County jail on suspicion of several charges, including:

  • Carrying a concealed firearm
  • Carrying a loaded firearm
  • Possession of a large-capacity magazine
  • Resisting or obstructing an officer
