VISALIA, CA — The Visalia Feral Cat Coalition is launching its annual “Neuter Your Ex” fundraiser for the 2026 Valentine’s Day season. According to YourCentralValley.com, the event allows local residents to support animal welfare by naming a feral cat after a former partner.

For a $30 donation, participants can name a cat and “symbolically” fix them. While the naming is just for fun, all proceeds go toward medical services for local stray cats.

The donations support the organization’s Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program. This initiative humanely traps cats, has them spayed or neutered, and returns them to their “colonies”—the outdoor groups where the cats live. The coalition says these efforts are essential for controlling the community’s cat population.

The coalition will also post photos of the cats on social media so donors can see exactly which animals their contributions are helping. These posts will include the names provided by the donors.
