VISALIA, CA — The Visalia Fire Department responded to a house fire on North Turner Street on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the residential neighborhood to manage the blaze. To give firefighters room to work safely, authorities closed a section of Turner Street north of Houston Avenue to all traffic.
The closure caused traffic delays and blocked some residents from reaching their homes. City officials asked drivers to avoid the area and find other routes while emergency teams worked at the scene, according to YourCentralValley.com.
Fire officials have not yet said what caused the fire, how much damage it did, or how long the road will stay closed.
