VISALIA, CA — A female pedestrian died early Sunday morning following a hit-and-run collision at a Visalia intersection, according to police reports.
Visalia police officers responded to the intersection of Giddings Street and Howard Avenue shortly after midnight on Jan. 18 following reports that a car had hit a pedestrian.
When officers arrived, they discovered the woman in the roadway. The driver involved in the collision had already fled the scene.
An ambulance took the woman to Kaweah Health, where she was later pronounced dead.
The Visalia Police Department Traffic Unit is leading the investigation into the fatal crash.
Police are asking for the public's help to identify those involved. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about the case is asked to contact investigators at 559-713-4175.
