VISALIA, CA — A 16-year-old was arrested on January 5, 2026, following a report of gunfire at a home in the 5600 block of West Seeger Court.

Visalia police responded to the neighborhood shortly after 12:30 a.m. Once on the scene, investigators found evidence a suspect entered the backyard and fired a weapon through a rear bedroom window.

According to the Visalia Police Department, there were people inside the house at the time of the shooting, but no injuries were reported.

Police identified the teenager as the suspect and arrested him without a struggle around 2:00 a.m. as he was returning to his own home. During a search of the area, officers found a gun inside a trash can near the scene. Investigators believe the weapon was used in the shooting.

The Visalia Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is now investigating the case.
